FAQ
What is Canyoning?
Canyoning involves navigating through gorges, usually in mountainous terrain, using specialized canyoning gear. Shaped by flowing water, these spectacular gorges, known as canyons in English, offer unique landscapes. Protected by wetsuits against the cold water, you’ll jump, slide, swim, and walk through the gorge, with opportunities to rappel along the way. Canyoning tours come in various types and difficulty levels, offering the right amount of action, nature, and fun for both families and thrill-seekers.
What are the requirements for Canyoning?
For canyoning, you typically need average fitness and the ability to swim. Some canyons may require technical skills like rappelling or jumping techniques, depending on the tour’s difficulty. We will work on and learn these skills together. In the “Canyoning Camp” gorges, you usually have different routes to choose from—challenging, intermediate, and easy—all within the same tour.
What should I bring for Canyoning?
Typical canyoning gear includes a wetsuit, helmet, climbing harness, canyoning shoes, and possibly ropes and carabiners. These are included in the price and provided by us.
How safe is Canyoning?
Safety in canyoning depends on various factors, including the difficulty of the gorge, current weather conditions, and participant experience. Professional guides can minimize risks by leading the group safely through the gorge and taking appropriate safety measures.
